She arrived in Toronto alone, where her social anxiety intensified. She became even more withdrawn, avoiding leaving her room and shying away from interactions. Outside her window, women dressed in traditional Beijing opera attire symbolized her hometown and past, yet also represented a form of confinement and constraint. While the scene outside reflected her longing for home, it also became a burden deep within her, creating an overwhelming sense of entrapment.
