A Cloak of Anti-Anxiety
Oil paints on Cardboard, 22 x 22, 2022
In an ever-evolving world, our minds constantly adapt to new environments, especially when transitioning to a diverse country like Canada, where people come from various backgrounds and cultures. This journey brings uncertainties and challenges, particularly as we pursue our dreams amidst this unfamiliar terrain. Amidst these changes, the risk of anxiety and depression looms, particularly during the colder months. Even when one realizes, that being away from your loved ones is not going to be easy one decides with a heavy heart to be here in Canada. I think anxiety can largely and slowly become a part of our lives here with how difficult life can be here in terms of survival and forging new social connections. To be able to sit with such feelings and to be able to recognize this constant lingering feeling of anxiety, I have made a piece which can help us realize what anxiety could look like and how we can overcome it.
Recognizing the importance of nurturing our mental well-being in the face of such challenges, Bridging Homes Art Exhibtion Description "A Cloak of Anti-Anxiety" has been made here using oil paints media on cardboard as a base. This piece encapsulates the struggles and turmoil one faces when battling anxiety, with the figure draped in the cloak portraying the palpable expressions of distress and unease. As an artist, I focus on capturing the nuances of emotion through art, offering a visual narrative that resonates deeply.
